Surveillance (CCTV) systems

With analog video cameras traditional is possible to capture images using a recorder which, in turn, converts it to a digital format and transports them across the network (LAN/WAN). Store images in digital format has allowed to lower the costs of these systems and has expanded the possibilities for the treatment of images:

  • Motion detection, and therefore optimize the recordings storing only the changes of image
  • Centralized recording, thus allowing backup of power system
  • Real Time Access  to remote cameras (by internet)

Design of the facility:

It is important to always avoid dead angles, that cams protect the installation itself, that they are not easy to reach, doing an installation proof of water also will protect you from atmospheric agents.

The use of lenses of greater openness to nearby needs, cameras with IR for low light and chose the 4K resolution only when required by the field of view

 IP cameras:

They are the most advanced version and currently the most economical choice, considering the simplicity of installation because most of them are powered through the data cable.

They are able to detect movement in a predefined mask, this allows that in the recording system just stored only images where the image has been changed and is therefore accomplished to save storage resources and also avoids false alarms.

The storage of images are used as stream video (Mpeg, H264...), or directly on separate JPEG file formats. It is possible to even use the two recording formats at the same time especially if while you are storing images you want to monitor in real time the images from a mobile device.

The major problem with IP cameras are poor standardization in the way of transmitting the images, or the way of transmitting  motion detection alarms, codecs used and format of the generated files

Some recorders performing motion detection process in real time internally in this way solved the possible incompatibilities of using different brands in the same installation.

There is an attempt at standardization that have adopted most manufacturers ONVIF, however the existence of several versions of this own standard, or different interpretations of manufacturers  arise up some problems when mixing brands.

It should be attention paid to the specs of the recorders processor, usually expressed as maximum bandwidth supported, because according to the resolution that we put in the cameras they can become overloaded
